What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

The following are the core beliefs of Turning Point Church based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, without error, and the final authority for faith and life. All of our beliefs submit to the teachings of the Scriptures. The Bible teaches there is one God, the Creator of all things, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, each possessing all the attributes of Deity.

Sin and Salvation

We believe God created humans to have fellowship with Him, but they rebelled against God by sinfully going their own way, thus eternally separating themselves from Him. Restoration and forgiveness from the rebellion of sin comes only through God’s saving grace in Jesus Christ, not human effort, and must be received personally by faith and repentance.

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ, fully man and fully God, lived a sinless life on earth and paid for our sin by dying on the cross as our substitute. His sacrifice on the cross provides salvation for all who receive grace by trusting in Him. He rose from the dead three days later, ascended to heaven, and is the only mediator between God and man.

The Holy Spirit and the Church

We believe the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify Christ and to convict, equip, and empower believers for personal growth and service to the church. The church’s role is to glorify God and to be a reflection of the love of Christ.

Resurrection and Judgment

Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. God raised him from the dead and now, by grace, offers as a free gift eternal life to all who follow Christ, by faith, as their Lord and Savior. That is why salvation can be found in Christ alone.
